Exam Instructions

Audio not working on the video I created so you will just have to read the instructions instead.

Today you are going to use MS Word to create a web page. To do this following the instructions below:
  1. open Word
  2. Click on the Office Button
  3. Click on Save As - save as: Web Page
  4. save in your P drive
  5. file name must be: Smith Web Page (Smith is replaced by your last name)
  6. make sure you save the file again each time you close
Your web page MUST contain the following:

  1. a banner at the top with your name
  2. a bulleted list describing the steps you follow when adding an RSS feed to your blog
  3. a hyperlink to your personal blog
  4. at least one graphic (must follow Creative Commons license rules)
  5. numbered list detailing Creative Commons license rules in your own words)
  6. a short description about you
After completing your web page then send it to me in an email as an attachment. Subject line: Smith Web Page.

Make sure that you do not have any spelling mistakes, grammar or punctuation mistakes.

You can view your web page simply by opening it.

Zoo Project Notes and Questions

Make sure that you have read the Zoo Research document on the S drive. You are to use the Zoo Project Script document to create your script for the project. Make sure you have created a folder on your P drive in the Projects folder. Name the folder: Smith Zoo Project (replace Smith with your last name).

ALL work for the zoo project MUST be saved to this folder. Complete ALL research before making your script. Create your script in Audacity after you have completed the Zoo Project Script document.

Remember: you must create 1 audio file per slide in Audacity
After recording an audio file in Audacity, click on File, click on Export as WAV, save in your Zoo Project Folder. Give the audio file a meaningful name such as: Slide1, Slide 2, etc.

To add the audio file to the slide, you will click on insert, then on sound file, then point to the recorded audio file in your Zoo Project folder. A small picture of a speaker will appear on the slide.

Make sure that you are documenting the sources of all your graphic files. Give credit where credit is due.

Remember:
All slide should have the same look, layout, font, etc.
If you use a background for a picture, make sure you read the text through the picture.
DO NOT put long paragraphs of information on your slides. Slides should contain 4 to 5 bulleted items that are prompts.


SAVE OFTEN.

Audacity is free and your can download it and use it at home. Your research and script can be completed at home if necessary.

PowerPoint Lesson

Good morning, after completing the PowerPoint tutorial do the following:

Using Flickr, you are to create a PowerPoint presentation of places that you want to visit. The presentation MUST be at least 24 slides (not including the title slide). You must use pictures found on Flickr AND you must use a variety pictures that have different Creative Commons license. Create a folder on your P drive in your projects folder. Name the folder: McCormick PowerPoint Flickr Project. Replace McCormick with your name. ALL pictures must be copied to this folder and your presentation must be saved to this folder.
